A large part of spiritual awakening is about waking up to what we’ve inherently believed in all our lives, without having questioned it first along the way. I like to call this blind believing: subscription.

What surfaces during the spiritual awakening process are: big truths & little truths. Some rock your socks off, while others simply rock your boat a little. I like to call the process of shedding beliefs once you no longer adhere to them: UNSUBSCRIBING.

The more you consciously unsubscribe, the more you get closer to the Real You.

Let’s Start with Diamonds

We all know that diamonds are a girl’s best friend.

Aw – how beautiful..

Think again.

This is just our subscription to a clever marketing campaign by DeBeers decades ago.

And awww – we get diamonds as gifts of promise in the name of: ‘engagement rings’… So beautiful…

Bullshit again – clever marketing by, you guessed it – De Beers.

So, decades later, we’ve all subscribed to a notion that, when you are getting married, the ‘thing to do’ is get that diamond on that finger; without realising where it came from…

Don’t get me wrong – I love diamonds. I love to wear them. I’m just clear now about the story behind them.. And realise now that ALL stones of the Earth are equally as BEAUTIFUL – and more accessible when there’s no monopoly over them…

Blind Subscriptions

Mmmm, well – I hope I have you thinking: What other beliefs, systems, set of ways have I subscribed to without realising? Because this means, I’m helping you along with your spiritual awakening process (when I say spiritual, I just mean connecting back to the Real You)..

Let’s see: a good place to start is seeing when you say ‘SHOULD‘. Because

‘SHOULDS’ indicate externally administered subscription (lol)

For example:

I should send my child to school

I should drink more milk for calcium

I should have more soy and less dairy

I should go to the gym

I should wear a bra (lol)

I should take the medication the doctor recommended without questioning what’s in it and researching alternatives for myself..

I should listen to the teacher – she knows best

I should shower my woman with gifts to show I love her

I should promise him my future because I love him (now)

I should do IVF because of my age (my grandmother, and many others, had children well into their forties: 44, 46 and 48 were her last 3…)

I should believe statistics

I should respect my elders (but what about when they don’t respect you? do you still give your power away to them then? just saying..)

I should meditate

I should read

I should fit into those skinny legs

I should do something about those wrinkles

About those greys!

I should I should I should

and, just wondering, but:

HOW MANY ARE SIMPLY THE RESULT OF SUCCESSFUL MARKETING STRATEGIES?!

Btw – politics, health, education, spiritual or motivational speakers etc – ALL USE MARKETING STRATEGIES to DRAW YOU IN.. So,

Time to UNSUBSCRIBE: part of your Spiritual Awakening Process

it has to be YOUR CONSCIOUS CHOICE

as part of your Spiritual Awakening.

No more being blindly shepherded by some marketing strategy that reeks a lack of integrity by believing it is ok to DUPE people into a lifelong subscription so as to retain their DOLLAR…long term 

Ahhhh – it feels good to get that out!

There are plenty I’ve unsubscribed from – and I’m sure many more unsubscriptions are yet to come.

So how to make that conscious choice? Simple. Ask your body! It’s BS meter is really high – if you just pay attention to it.

5 Signs your body does not want you to subscribe include:

1. stiffening
2. holding your breath
3. faster heartbeat
4. anxiety &/or depression – often BIG SIGNS from your body telling you that you’ve subscribed to believing in a ‘set of ways’ that DO NOT RESONATE with your natural state, with your authentic self e.g. a ROLE you may be playing out such as the dutiful daughter, dutiful husband, dutiful wife, dutiful student, dutiful teacher – this part of you wants you to re-scribe the role’s traditional ‘set of ways’ so that they are: YOUR SET OF WAYS!
5. muteness – not able to respond vocally

Basically – a LACK of FLOW or even BLOCKAGE of FLOW in your body, is energy signalling to you! Saying wrong way go back:

DON’T SUBSCRIBE – IT’S NOT FOR YOU!!!

Feeling BLOCKED is a Spiritual Awakening signal from your body to UNSUBSCRIBE

My point is this: there are so many PRE-SCRIBED sets of ways – that well, they seem to THWART any opportunity we have in actually being CREATIVE about HOW we arrive at our OWN wisdom; to the point where sometimes it feels like there’s no real being inside us anymore more, just a shell that, when eventually alone, remembers its emptiness and despair.. (from which gives rise to the spiritual awakening process!)
