Yesterday I came across ‘Hekate’ the ancient Greek Moon Goddess during my vagabonding on the internet. HEKATE: Goddess of ‘Magic’ and the ‘Underworld’..
Mmmm I thought. I have no doubt that my name stems from this word. In Greek my name is ‘Aikaterini’ (pronounced Ekaterini). This is the name I was christened with…
And then I read this: “Hecate reveals your shadow. She shows you who you really are, when you’re not pretending to be civilised and rational and normal. She is at home here in the darkness, and wants you to feel the same way. Hecate watches over the darkest nights of your soul and teaches you to see through your fears. With her help, you can deepen, grow in wisdom and become less rational and naïve. You can become whole.”
Wow. This is exactly what I do in my practice. I usher people through the Dark Night of Their Soul, connecting them to their true Self overriding consensus masks/identity attachments… I often call it MAGIC because, when I work with the fire of their process, the results blow me away: MAGIC EVERY TIME.
Isn’t it time we stopped being frightened of words like ‘magic’ and ‘underworld’ and began to awaken to the fact that our deepest desire to become ‘whole’ NEEDS our traversing through our own bowels of existence – our shadows, our underworld?..
